Hi, I'm Mia.

My journey to complementary medicine started with a stomach ache. It got so bad that I went to my MD. After a few rounds of meds that didn’t work, he sent me to a gastroenterologist. The ultrasound was negative, so I got a colonoscopy (not fun). Finally, a problem was visible (inflammation), and I thought, "Awesome! Now we can get to the business of making me feel better!" I was wrong. The doctor's exact words were, "Your colon is not inflamed enough for me to treat it.” Wait...what??!

I was as skeptical about Eastern medicine, but I was also desperate. With nothing to lose, I finally went to see an acupuncturist. During my first visit, she gave me herbs and some dietary guidelines. Within a month, my pain was gone. My skepticism was replaced with intrigue, and I began a lifelong study of complementary medicine.

I absolutely love going to work every day and helping patients move from frustration and confusion about their health to clarity and hope. Seriously, dream job.
