Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING
(Collagen Induction Therapy)?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatment that stimulates the skins natural healing process to remodel the skin. Through the creation of these intentional, micro traumas, the production of collagen and elastin are significantly enhanced, while the absorption of products is increased to up to 2000%. The overall effect is more even skin tone that appears taut and glowing.

DOES MICRONEEDLING HURT?

Our goal is to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. We use topical numbing cream on the skin before microneedling so that you don’t feel much during the treatment. The numbing effect wears off after about two hours, and there should be no pain.

We treat patients within the context of Eastern medicine and integrate Western orthopedic diagnostic techniques to inform our diagnoses and refine our treatment.

  • The number of treatments needed to see results varies based on specific skin care goals most see benefits with three monthly treatments. Depending on the desired results and condition of the skin, more treatments may be needed.

  • Directly after micro needling you will notice your skin may feel taught and hot with some redness that lasts up to two days. After three days, skin may peel or flake as cellular turnover increases. Since congested pores have been opened some breakouts may occur as your skin purges from the treatment. Hyperpigmentation and sunspots may appear darker.  Within a week or two your skin will be smoother and glowing.
